Hospitality Degrees

In the hospitality and tourism management program, our goal is to create business leaders. Our courses give you the skills to run a business, whether you’re landing a corporate role or launching your own startup. With an emphasis on managerial leadership, you’ll gain experience in accounting, finance, information technology, marketing and strategic management — giving you a foundation to start your career and quickly advance.

Among our offerings, you can take courses in convention and event management, casino management, nutrition and revenue management. Additionally, our student-operated Club at Gateway restaurant allows you to put your classroom learning into practice.

Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management

This program prepares you to own your own company or work in management for hospitality venues, including hotels, resorts, country clubs, restaurants and event-planning companies. We enhance our undergraduate program with learning laboratories, cutting-edge technology, and extensive education and training in all hospitality business skills. Master of Science Hospitality & Tourism Data Analytics

The Master of Science degree in Hospitality & Tourism Data Analytics (HTAN) provides students a new path in combining theory with applications to meet the increasing need for highly skilled hospitality/tourism data analysts who can analyze the growing amount of data confronting in the hospitality/tourism industry, and transform it into usable information for use in decision-making.

Master of Science in International Sustainable Tourism

The UNT-CATIE joint master’s degree is the first of its kind in the U.S. In this two-year program, you will spend the first two semesters at UNT and the last two semesters at the Center for Tropical Agricultural Research and Education (CATIE) in Turrialba, Costa Rica. Students in this program study eco-friendly travel and how corporations can make the tourism sector more environmentally sustainable. The coursework is taught in English and will prepare you for management and leadership positions in the international sustainable tourism industry.

Located less than three miles from campus, our local Embassy Suites by Hilton is home to the Denton Convention Center and gives you the opportunity to get experience in your field before you graduate. A number of our students and recent graduates serve as interns and employees, getting behind-the-scenes exposure to the world of hospitality and quickly mastering the art of hotel management.
