Job Description

The Omni Hotels & Resorts (full-time) Meeting & Events Internship will be a 10–12-week immersion into multiple aspects of the company’s Corporate Sales Department and Meeting & Events division. Candidates considered for this internship must be able to start as early as February - March 2024. 

 

Our ideal candidate will assist with the planning, logistics and coordination of training classes and meetings and events.

The (full-time) Meetings & Event Internship is an ideal opportunity to shine as a hospitality professional helping support successful meetings, events, sales training, and special projects.

 

Schedule, Location, and Hours

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (in-person, not remote/hybrid)
  • Location: The Omni Hotels & Resorts Corporate Office in Dallas, TX.
  • Full-time Internship (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist and report to the Senior Meetings & Events Manager while also providing support to the Meetings & Events Manager and Coordinator.
  • Be actively involved in brainstorming sessions, research, vendor selection, and other aspects of event planning.
  • Collaborate with the planning, organization, and production of training workshops and corporate sales events. Responsibilities may include attendee registration, name badge creation, and managing training collateral.
  • Assist in arranging orders and creative materials for training workshops and corporate sales events.
  • Utilize the registration platform, Cvent, for efficient management and reporting.
  • Help prepare for events and travel arrangements by creating documents like "Know Before You Go" and "Look Book."
  • Assist in developing surveys, collecting responses, and producing survey results as required for various projects.
  • Support daily administrative duties as needed.
  • Maintain inventory in the Event Closet, ensuring supplies are well-organized and readily available

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a program in fields such as Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Communications, or a related area
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks at a given time
  • Ability to work and confer with variety of stakeholders to meet deadlines and accomplish goals
  • A wide degree of creativity is expected
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Detail oriented and extensive analytical skills
  • Pro-active problem solver
  • Motivated, self-starter, solution oriented
