Position Summary
The Intern – Hotel Operations will work side by side with our Operations and Property leaders gaining hands on experience and in-depth exposure to how our hotels/properties operate. Through this opportunity you will have the opportunity to work with leaders across various areas to gain an understanding of how each department contributes to the overall success of the hotel/property. You will also be responsible for completing a project over the course of your internship and presenting it to your intern peers and leaders in the organization.
Essential Duties
Projects/responsibilities you will be asked to do during your internship:
Hotel Operations
- Work with Hotel Operations leadership at our corporate office shadowing, attending meetings and learning how we support our field teams
- Work with property General Manager to understand overall operations of hotel and how they ensure goals and compliance standards are met by their team
Group Sales/ Hotel Finance
- Work with Sales team to understand how sales strategies are built for property, including targeted market segments, rate management, solicitation procedures and advertising
- Work with Director Finance to understand financial impact key business decisions can have on the overall hotel budget
Front Desk
- Work with hotel front desk on tasks including, but not limited to; reservations, check in and check out procedures, and guest concierge services
Beverage & Food
- Work with Beverage & Food associates to learn how team operates including assisting with at least one major event set up and throughout to understand workflow for events
- Assist in creation of printed materials for events including signage, labels, board listings and specialty menus
Engineering
- Work with Engineering team to gain understanding of key repair and maintenance issues that occur at property
Housekeeping
- Assist Director of Housekeeping in coordination of daily activities to ensure plan is in place for sufficient staffing to clean guest rooms and other property areas
Human Resources
- Work with property HR team to understand how HR policies and programs are implemented and enforced
Experience and Qualifications
Critical knowledge, skills, education and experience you must have:

- Rising Senior for a bachelor's degree in hospitality or hotel management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, Outlook
- Commitment to delivering high level of customer service
- Positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Executive presence in dealing with customers and hotel teams
- Ability to work on own and within a team
- Strong desire to grow a career in the Hospitality Field
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must be able to represent Remington’s core values during internship including, engaging, innovative, ethical and tenacious
