POSITION DESCRIPTION

Sellmark Corporation, a leader in offering quality products in the outdoor living space and unparalleled experiences through its distinct divisions, is seeking a dynamic and passionate intern for our Sellmark Experiences team, focusing on our Grand View event venue and Sellmark Ranch operations. This summer internship is designed for college students who are majoring in event management, hospitality, or related fields and are eager to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of event venue and hospitality services. Based in Mansfield, Texas, this position will primarily support the Grand View event venue, renowned for hosting corporate, social, and wedding events, with secondary support for the Sellmark Ranch, which offers multi-night lodging, fishing, and hunting/shooting sports experiences. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Venue Operation and Sales, this internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the intricacies of event planning and execution, marketing strategies, research, and community engagement, all while being a part of a growing team that includes the Associate Director and a Sales Manager/Associate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS   

• Event Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating day-to-day operations of events at the Grand View venue and Sellmark Ranch, ensuring each event runs smoothly and meets client expectations.
• Client Services: Provide exceptional service to clients and guests, addressing inquiries and concerns, and contributing to a memorable experience.
• Vendor Liaison: Act as a liaison between the venue and external vendors, ensuring all aspects of event setup, execution, and breakdown are managed effectively.
• Marketing Support: Support marketing efforts to promote the venue and ranch, including social media management, content creation, and distribution of marketing materials.
• Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends in event planning and hospitality, competitive analyses, and potential areas for expansion or improvement.
• Community Engagement: Participate in local community events and initiatives to promote the venue and ranch, enhancing their visibility and reputation in the community.
• Sales Assistance: Support the Sales Manager/Associate in managing bookings, conducting tours of the venue and ranch for prospective clients, and contributing to sales strategy discussions.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties as needed, including scheduling, correspondence, and maintaining records of events and client interactions.
• Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from clients post-event to assess satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
• KPI Reporting: Assist in tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to event success, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS 

Main hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.
