NCA’s events specialist will work with the events team to produce exceptional educational opportunities for the CACFP Community.


 

Key Responsibilities


 

Logistics & Programming

  • Oversee events project management dashboard, track progress, and work with team for successful implementation of all events
  • Manage event scholarships process and selection
  • Lead development, tracking, and use of training topics requests
  • Transition webinars/materials to learning center
  • Assess learning center webinars for content and develop promotional opportunities


 

  • Understand National Conference event specialist onsite responsibilities
  • Manage staff and board schedules for National Conference
  • Supervise National Conference materials shipping and handling
  • Ensure event orders are correct and executed by the host hotel


 

  • Serve as co-host primarily for all virtual events; and as host as needed
  • Manage external exhibit / educational speaking opportunities process
  • Draft grant proposals and supporting documents for potential events


 

Attendee Experience

  • Process National Conference surveys and produce report results and recommendations
  • Engage with community in our NCA networking and social channels
  • Manage the conference app selection, information, onsite experience
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices for webinar organization, technology and engagement strategies to enhance the overall attendee webinar experience
  • Process Virtual event surveys, develop dashboard for report results, track success
  • Secure partnerships with national and state agencies issuing training hours


 

Speaker Management

  • Manage and update NCA’s presenter database
  • Assist event team with virtual speaker coordination and scheduling
  • Track and update speaker confirmations, registrations, deadlines as needed
  • Secure external speakers in cooperation with events team


 

National In-Person Conference

  • Serve as second in command to event specialist (onsite), event specialist (virtual) and partnership specialist (exhibit hall)
  • Other onsite hosting and planning support as required

SKILLS PREFERRED

  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, event management or a related field of study; significant work experience can substitute for the degree.
  • Understanding how to plan, organize and execute projects of varying complexity and delivering them within specified timeframes and budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
  • Ability and confidence to manage and accomplish multiple simultaneous projects and work assignments with little supervision.
  • Experience with Zoom Webinar, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient command of English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assemble event materials, setup tradeshow displays.
  • Ability to use discretion and judgement to make decisions that impact the association.


 

HOURS

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a week of required travel in both mid-April and early fall (Oct/Nov), at minimum or as needed.


 

SALARY

Salary is dependent on experience ranging $55k-$70k.

LOCATION

This is a work from home position. Staff members are required to have a dedicated home office and child care. NCA will provide staff a phone, computer, external monitor, webcam, and office supplies.
