This course is designed to engage students in an intense study of an area pertinent to the field of merchandising.  Dallas serves as a prime venue for those pursuing a career in merchandising.  Students will experience the digital and physical fashion and home furnishings industries through visits to manufacturing facilities, retail establishments, retail corporate offices, and industry support organizations.

Class will meet each Friday during the semester.  We will travel to the Dallas area on nine of the Fridays and will meet on campus from 9:00 to noon on the remaining days.  Transportation will be provided via chartered bus leaving the Denton campus at 8:00 am and returning to Denton at noon.  All students will be required to travel on the bus.  

Prerequisites: C or better in MDSE 2490, DRTL 2090, HFMD 2400 or RETL 2550
