Internship Program Dates: May 20, 2024 - August 2, 2024


Position Purpose: 
We are looking for a Corporate Operations Intern to join our talented team of business professionals this summer at our headquarters based in Westlake, TX. Our 11-week Internship Program provides an invaluable hands-on experience for those who want to work alongside a team that values results, enjoyment (really – we love to work hard, play hard) and learning.  

Forget about coffee runs – our Interns learn the ins and outs of their area of specialization and enjoy representing the company in challenging enterprise-wide projects and meaningful assignments to gain the knowledge, experience and training you will need to determine if your career choice is the right fit for you. We provide Interns with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills while gaining a deeper understanding of concepts through immersive application.  

Working closely with their program managers, Interns explore their career field of interest, acquire new skills, and develop transferrable skills. Each Intern reports to a Core-Mark leader who provides hands-on training, oversight, and mentorship. We are looking for well-rounded individuals who have demonstrated not only outstanding academic achievement, but aptitude for leadership, teamwork, analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills and sincere interest to pursue a career in their area of expertise. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead vendor profitability reviews in support of vendor contract negotiations/renegotiations
  • Work cross-functionally with Core-Mark leaders on Purchasing and Operational KPI tracking and communication
  • Analyze complex financial and operational information to provide accurate and timely recommendations to management
  • Respond to non-routine analyses in support of division growth
  • Support the inbound logistics team in the optimization of network profitability
  • Primary liaison with corporate finance in management of and ownership of rebate accrual processes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Understanding of basic business concepts
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to provide a high level of service to business partners
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Takes ownership for all assigned areas of responsibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be an undergraduate student with expectations to graduate by May 2025, or earlier.
  • Must be residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, or willing to relocate. 
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA, or higher is required 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship in related field preferred  
  • Major or field of study in Supply Chain, Business Management or Finance is highly desired.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
