About

Biography

Dr. Kennon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hospitality, Event and Tourism Management.   After earning her BS degree in Vocational Home Economics and MS in Education from UNT she completed her Ph.D. in Nutrition/Institutional Administration from Texas Woman’s University.  She has taught courses at the undergraduate level that include food preparation, food sanitation, presentation techniques, and facilities management.  At the graduate level, courses include restaurant development, trends and issues and introduction to research.  Dr. Kennon has an established research agenda in food safety related to specific consumer groups, food safety practices of professionals in the restaurant industry and the impact of consumer trends on the hospitality industry.
