Faculty from UNT’s Merchandising program within the College of Merchandising, Hospitality, and Tourism will lead the workshop. Local industry professionals will join as guest experts, with graduate student assistants supporting the instructors and assisting participants throughout each day.
All instructors and graduate student assistants working directly with participants will have completed a criminal background check and child protection training as required by the University of North Texas. Participants will always be under supervision, with no instances of unsupervised time. Supervision and staffing ratios will consistently meet or exceed University requirements, ensuring a safe and well-monitored environment.
There are no requirements; we will supply everything participants will need. After the first day, participants may wish to bring items to use during the workshop; this is acceptable provided all items are permanently labeled with the participant’s name. We and the University are not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings. We suggest that your participant wear comfortable walking shoes.
The safety and well-being of participants and staff are the University’s highest priority. If your participant is ill, please keep them at home. Participants must manage their own medications, as we are not qualified or responsible for the distribution of medications.
We will be using all the typical supplies of an art workshop, including handling apparel and textiles, assembling trend boards (using paper, magazines, scissors, X-acto knives, adhesives, pens, markers, found objects, etc.), and visiting an historic fashion collection.
