Experience two weeks immersed in the culture, history, and traditions of Tokyo and Kyoto while exploring how Japan's distinctive approach to hospitality and merchandising shapes everyday life. Through visits to historic landmarks, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, museums, cultural attractions, retail establishments, hotels, restaurants, tourism venues, and select industry locations, students will gain a deeper understanding of Japan's rich heritage and contemporary society.
The program takes place primarily in Tokyo and Kyoto, where students will learn to communicate ideas across cultures and gain insight from diverse perspectives and analyze major global trends and their impacts on market conditions. Additionally, students will gain a historical and cultural perspective of Japan and examine how Japanese culture influences the hospitality and merchandising industries. By the end of the program, students will have developed a meaningful appreciation of Japan's history, culture, and its role in today's interconnected world.
