
Suchi Subhra Acharjya is a graduate student pursing her master’s degree in Merchandising & Consumer Analytics in the College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism (CMHT) at the University of North Texas. As a Graduate Research Assistant under the USDA grant, she assists the team with programming, assessment, and marketing/promotion.
Suchi completed her undergraduate degree in Textile Technology from Bangladesh. Additionally, she holds an MS degree in Textile Engineering and an MBA degree in Organization, Strategy & Leadership. Suchi has more than eight and half years of work experience in the apparel and fashion industries. She served at Target Sourcing Services LLC (Bangladesh liaison office), Carrefour Global Sourcing Asia Ltd. (Bangladesh liaison office), Franco Limited Bangladesh Liaison Office (ORXY Bangladesh), Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. (Bangladesh liaison office), Opex and Sinha Group in Bangladesh. In 2019, Suchi obtained the Special Prize on Compliance Social Responsibility (CSR) Super Hero, organized by Carrefour Global Sourcing Ltd., for her sustainable packaging project.
In 2025, Suchi was awarded the esteemed Sara Douglas Fellowship from the International Textile & Apparel Association (ITAA) for her academic accomplishments and professional excellence. She also received the CMHT Graduate Student Research Grant to proceed with her MS thesis on investigating the consumers’ awareness towards circularity approaches of apparel. Her other research interests include sustainable fashion and a bio-based material implications in textiles.
