Bachelor of Science in Retail

As one of UNT’s newest degree programs, the bachelor of science in retail prepares students for the vibrant global industry, currently undergoing unprecedented change. This paradigm shift requires a workforce with advanced degrees, skills and knowledge to meet the challenges of a globally competitive, complex, and consumer-driven industry. Over 28 million -or one of every four U.S. jobs — is in retail. Retail encompasses analyzing retail business strategies, managing retail store operations, and buying for retail merchandise in an Omni-channel retail environment.

By taking courses in operations, retail finance, retail strategies, consumer behavior, retail buying, global sourcing, brand development, and promotion, students learn important marketable skills that can be leveraged across many product categories. Competencies in strategic and consumer-centered decision making, data analysis, omnichannel experiences, and merchandising processes, make graduates of the retail program ready lead an ever-changing industry.
