Hospitality Management Students at International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show in New York City
December 12, 2011

Hospitality Management students and faculty attended the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IHM&RS) in New York City in November. The students and faculty spent time exploring the city while learning about the many hospitality venues the Big Apple offers.

During the trip, the students toured the back of the house and front of the house operations of the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. At the show, students networked with industry representatives, hospitality education professionals, students from other educational institutions, and alumni. The students also, of course, had a fantastic time touring the city, eating at famous restaurants, shopping at fine stores, and experiencing Broadway shows.

This year's annual trip was unique because it was the first year of The Collegiate Green Team Awards, in which a team of four of UNT's Hospitality Management students received their first place award. Richard Dagleish, student group member, represented the team in New York. The Collegiate Green Team Awards ceremony and the IHM RS panel at the Jacob Javitz Center were sponsored by Wyndham Hotels.
