Attracting Quality Students, Fall 2011 Enrollment Rises to 900!
September 27, 2011

The Fall 2011 semester has manifested a milestone in The University of North Texas history books. Over the past year, the UNT Hospitality Management program has received an increase in enrollment resulting in 900 majors. After graduating 200 students over the 2010-11 school year, the program has replaced that amount of graduates plus a 10% increase, making it one of the most thriving hospitality and tourism management programs in the country.

As for new university freshmen and transfer students, UNT's average SAT score has risen 4 points in the past year to an astounding 1105, 10 points higher than that of the Fall 2009 semester. It is noteworthy that this increase occurred at the same time the freshman class grew by 300+ students in one year and by 500 over the same two years. Increases in class size as well as quality do not often occur at universities; this freshman class has more students from the top 10% and top 25% of the high school class than ever in university history. UNT has also received 15% more admission applications this year; a sign that the university's academic reputation and overall attractiveness to parents and students is at its highest level.
