UNT Hospitality Management Faculty Present Research at I-CHRIE Conference

Dr. Lea Dopson, Chair of Hospitality Management, Dr. Richard Tas, Professor in Hospitality Management, and Rosa Malave, Hospitality Management Career Development Coordinator recently attended the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE) Conference. The annual event was held in Denver, Colorado July 27 to July 30, 2011.

As leaders in academic program assessment, Dopson and Tas presented a symposium titled, "Guide to Learning Outcomes Assessment:  Meeting Accreditation Requirements." Dopson and Tas also presented strategies on developing international joint degree programs at the graduate level during a session titled, "Elevating the Master's Degree: Joint International Programs."

As I-CHRIE Silver Partners, UNT's Hospitality Management program sponsored the transportation for the Dean's and Director's program and the First-Time Attendees' Reception. The Hospitality Management program also participated in the first annual Career Fair, which provided a venue for new faculty recruitment. 

Faculty participation in conferences such as I-CHRIE strengthen international networks and foster the general advancement of teaching, learning, research and practice in the hospitality field. To learn more about I-CHRIE, please visit their website.
