New UNT Mean Green Stadium!
August 23, 2011

The new $78 million Mean Green Stadium official opening is on the horizon, beginning with the first game versus the University of Houston Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on September 10th. A total of five home games are scheduled for play at the new stadium throughout the year, spearheaded by new head coach Dan McCarney. Naming rights for the new Mean Green football stadium have been awarded to Apogee, the largest, most innovative provider of on-campus residential networks (ResNet) in higher education.

Promotion of the new Apogee Stadium has been abundant including an online and broadcast commercial featuring alumnus Mean Joe Greene, discount ticket sales for faculty and staff, a new website, and multiple feature articles published by The Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Business Journal.

The 31,000-seat Apogee Stadium will be a year-round venue for concerts and community events, in addition to University of North Texas games and activites.  The facility will include luxury suites, a club seating level, and a Spirit Store.  The stadium also houses an exclusive hospitality centerpiece, the Mean Green Club. The club will feature a wide variety of indoor and outdoor accommodations to over 700 fans. As UNT continues to climb in enrollment, now reaching over 37,000 students, the Apogee stadium is dedicated to providing a first-class campus experience.
