Dr. Tammy Kinley among newly elected ITAA council members
March 24, 2010

Dr. Tammy Kinley, chair of the merchandising division, was recently elected as the vice president for planning for the International Textiles and Apparel Association (ITAA), an organization representing scholars, educators, and students in the textile, apparel, and merchandising disciplines.  In her new council post, Kinley will oversee strategic planning and guide key organizational committees including international relations, administrative leadership, and philosophical missions.

Kinley's visible position on the council brings recognition to both the merchandising division and the greater university community. She will assume her two-year appointment on September 1, 2010.  Kinley's vision for the organization is clear. "ITAA exists for the professional benefit of the membership--members must disseminate research, engage in professional dialogue, and explore collaborative opportunities within the organization," says Kinley. "Moving forward, ITAA must provide a resource for non-competitive support between institutions that are facing budget cuts, curriculum management issues, and the need for competitive advantages on individual campuses," she adds.

Kinley brings over 15 years of leadership experience to her new position having served ITAA in various capacities including vice president for operations, newsletter editor, and chair of the membership committee.
