Korean Society of Clothing & Textiles announces UNT plenary speaker lineup
March 23, 2010

The Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles (KSCT) recently awarded the plenary lecture designation to a UNT research team for the 2010 spring conference. The UNT lineup includes Dr. Haejung Kim, merchandising faculty member, Dr. Judith Forney, dean of the School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management, and Ruth Crowley, vice chair UNT Merchandising Board of Governors. Their proposal, O.P.E.N Triad: Futuring the Success for Individuals and Industries, will be the conference highlight held on the campus of Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea on April 17, 2010.

Through a competitive process, the KSCT awarded three proposals for the special session examining the challenges facing academic programs in the competitive global marketspace. The UNT proposal was selected as the top conference plenary lecture, and the team received a $3,000 award.

With over 3,000 active members, KSCT stands as the representative professional association in the clothing and textiles discipline in Korea.  The theme for the spring conference will address the future of the Korean clothing and textiles discipline, and UNT's creative team will provide a framework for program redesign. "We are honored with this award and look forward to sharing our model of industry collaboration and student engagement with an international audience," says Kim.
