Dallas ISD academy students visit UNT
December 07, 2009

Over 90 students from the Dallas Independent School District visited the UNT campus this December to experience campus life and learn about career opportunities in hospitality management and finance.  The high school seniors are currently enrolled in academies which are designed to blend student's required academic courses with specific careers in hospitality and finance.  Career-focused academies are offered at high schools throughout the district including Bryan Adams, Conrad, Kimball, Thomas Jefferson, Skyline, Townview Business, and Woodrow Wilson.

Despite a cold north wind and snow flurries, students enjoyed classroom presentations, dining at the Club at Gateway Center, a UNT basketball game, and a walking tour of campus led by SMHM staff and ambassadors.  "We are thrilled to share program information with these bright young students, and we are hopeful that UNT will be their university of choice," says Crutsinger, associate dean for the school.   For information on SMHM academic programs or scheduling a campus visit, please contact Christy Crutsinger at christyc@unt.edu.
