SMHM Board of Governors Cheer for the Mean Green

SMHM Board of Governors members and SMHM alumni have enjoyed play-by-play action with Dean Judith Forney, President Gretchen Bataille, and Provost Wendy Wilkins, throughout the Mean Green football season.  At the September 12, 2009 game against Ohio University, merchandising BOG members included Steve Woodward and his wife Terri, and Rich Last and his wife Linda.  Steve is Chair of the Merchandising BOG and Senior V. P. of Product Development for Fossil.  Rich is V.P. and Director of New Business Development for J.C. Penney and Chairman of the Board for  The Hospitality BOG was represented by Ken Heymann and his wife Susan.  Ken is Chair of the Hospitality BOG and the COO of UniFocus. Also attending were UNT alumni Joe and Pauline Guerra.  Joe is a 1996 graduate of the SMHM hospitality management program and part owner of Rudy's Tortillas/Rudy's Food Products, Inc. located in Dallas, TX.  


On October 31, 2009, fans enjoyed a Mean Green victory (68-49) over the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky.  Special guests included merchandising BOG member Kathleen Mason, President and CEO of Tuesday Morning, and her husband Charlie. Hospitality BOG members included Michael Woody, his wife Ellen and daughter Lauren, and Tom Faust and his wife Michelle.  Michael (B.S. '89) is the Director of New Business Development for American Airlines Publishing and Vice Chair of the Hospitality board. Tom Faust is the V.P. of Sales and Distribution for Omni Hotels. At each home game, administrators, alumni, and guests are greeting by Laurea Dunahoe, Special Events Coordinator for the Office of the President, and hospitality management student, Emily Boykin.  Under the supervision of Ms. Dunahoe, Emily is completing her internship in event management and gaining valuable experience at Mean Green games and other events sponsored by President Bataille.
