Travelocity Executive Featured at UNT Lecture Series
October 22, 2009

Noreen Henry, vice president of hotel and packaging for Travelocity, was the featured speaker at the Executive-in-Residence (EIR) Lecture Series on October 13, 2009. Over 450 students attended the event, sponsored by the School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management.

Henry, a UNT graduate, began her career in the travel industry with Sabre Holdings in Southlake, the parent company of Travelocity. She worked in product development, customer experience and marketing for the travel technology company, eventually becoming senior director of Sabre's technology solutions. In that position, she was responsible for the Qik-Access Reservation product line, managing more than 60 airline and hotel clients worldwide.

She joined Travelocity in 2001 and currently oversees the online travel agency's hotel strategy, product marketing, merchandising, business financials and hotel operations. She also works closely with Travelocity's partner marketing alliances team on hotel supplier strategy.  Henry is currently a member of the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International Foundation Board of Directors. She previously served on the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association Board of Directors as the organization's vice president in 2006-2007, and treasurer in 2005-2006.

The EIR Series, established in 1988, is made possible through an endowment from the Ben E. Keith company.  Hospitality management chair, Lea Dopson notes, "Noreen is a dynamic role model for our students.  We are fortunate to have such talented executives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area willing to prepare the next generation of hospitality professionals." Henry recently joined the UNT Hospitality Board of Governors.
