Hospitality Faculty Represent UNT at Asia-Pacific CHRIE Conference in Singapore

Dr. Lea Dopson, Chair of Hospitality Management, and Dr. Bharath Josiam, Associate Professor in Hospitality Management recently participated in the Asia-Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education Conference (APacCHRIE).  The annual event was held in Singapore, May 28-31, 2009. 


As a leader in innovative pedagogy and curriculum development, Dopson participated in a panel discussion titled, Hospitality and Tourism Education:  Global Trends and Development. Dopson was one of the four panelists from Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore, sharing her perspective on educational trends in U.S. hospitality and tourism programs.  Dr. Dopson also presented innovative curriculum strategies during a session titled, Graduate Curriculum Renewal: A Universal  Approach.  Dr. Josiam's presentation was titled, Nutritional Information on Restaurant Menus: Identifying Correlates of Demand, Usage Intention, & Lifestyle. 


Faculty participation in international conferences such as APacCHRIE strengthen international networks  and foster the general advancement of teaching, learning, research and practice in the hospitality field.  To learn more about the APacCHRIE conference, please visit their website.
