January 12, 2009

The Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE) recently awarded UNT master’s student, Davette Angelo, the annual graduate fellowship for $2,000. The award was announced in December at the 2008 ACTE Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fellowships are awarded annually to family and consumer sciences education graduate students to promote further education and professional development within family and consumer sciences education.  Angelo recently completed a study assessing the current scope of textiles and apparel programs relative to discipline-specific sustainability content. "I am excited to be given the opportunity to contribute research that will further the knowledge of students in the subject area of family and consumer sciences and the discipline of textiles and apparel," Angelo stated.  Davette completed her bachelor's degree in business administration from Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida.
