Hospitality Students Attend International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show in New York
November 13, 2008

Six UNT hospitality management students attended the International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show (IHMRS) show in New York in November. The annual event is the world's largest showcase and exchange of industry products, trends, and developments, attracting every segment and facet of the industry. Students toured, met with various venders, and interacted with different segments of hospitality industry. A highlight of the trip was a field trip to Marriott Marquis in Times Square, hosted by Sara Madden, a banquet manager at the property who is also a former student of Dr. Dopson. At Marriott Marquis, the group had an opportunity to meet a celebrity pastry chef Ebow Dadzie who graciously treated the group to his special desserts.  Dr. Lea Dopson, Chair of the Hospitality Management program, Dr. Bharath Josiam, Associate Professor in the Hospitality Management program, and Joy Wright, UNT Development Officer, accompanied the students.
