Specialty Store Co-Owner, Jessica Kemp, Brings Home Furnishings Merchandising Classes to Life
October 16, 2008

Jessica Kemp graduated in 2006 with the dream of one day owning her own store. Soon after graduation, Jessica took action and teamed up with her mother, Wendy Broyles, to open the Madison Jane Boutique, located on the historic Denton Texas town square.  Their philosophy is based on the idea that everyday objects should be beautiful, functional, and affordable.  Their eclectic collection of home furnishings and accessory items offers consumers a range of styles from mid-century modern to French vintage.  Jessica's daughter, Madison Jane, is the inspiration for their store name and the energy that keeps their business successful.  Jessica states, "Choosing home furnishings merchandising as my major was the perfect choice in preparing me for store ownership."  She further comments, "I am continually energized by meeting new customers and establishing working relationships with vendors."  Jessica plans to open another store with her mother, Bumble Beads, which will offer customers a one-stop shopping experience for beads, jewelry supplies, and fun hands-on classes.
