Hospitality Management Faculty Receives Recognition at Women Chefs and Restaurateurs' Annual Convention

The Women Chefs and Restaurateurs' annual convention was held September 20-22, 2008 in New Orleans. The organization is committed to bringing together women in the field to share ideas and mentor new professionals. The mission is to strengthen the ties between farmers, purveyors, the people in the front of the house, and the chefs in the kitchen. Awards were presented to a number of women who have inspired those around them to be the best they can be in their chosen field. Jodi Duryea, lecturer in hospitality management, was invited to prepare part of one of the meals.  Her dish, Red Quinoa Doughnuts Stuffed with Fresh Blueberry Compote and Maple Glazed Pecans, was selected for the lunch sponsored by Indian Harvest, a company specializing in grains and specialty products.
