Dr. Judith Forney was recently named the distinguished 2008 Prentice Hall Lecturer by the International Textiles and Apparel Association (ITAA).  Prentice Hall is one of the leading book publishers in the world and publishes numerous textbooks for the textile, apparel, fashion, and retailing markets.  Prentice Hall seeks to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field with a $1,500 award and the opportunity to present a lecture at the annual ITAA meeting.

Dr. Forney’s lecture will highlight her significant contributions to the textiles, apparel, and home furnishings fields and track her professional development.  Her lecture titled, “The Global Consumer Experience Paradigm:  A Pedagogical Frontier for Fashion,” will reveal how consumer expectations for meaningful consumption are transforming the fashion industry into a global network of consumer experiences.   The 2008 International Textiles and Apparel Association meeting will be held in Schaumburg, Illinois in November.
