Nov 4, 2013

Members of the newly established Green Eagles Chapter of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) attended the organization’s Annual Convention and Tradeshow at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas October 16 – 19.  HFTP hospitality management students that attended were Bryce Wark, President, Hayley Meyer, Secretary, and Jackson Mitchell, member.  Of their experience, Meyer noted that, “The convention was a wonderful networking opportunity to meet industry-wide financial and technology professionals, as well as connect with other student chapter members from around the world.”

The Green Eagles Chapter of HFTP is dedicated to bringing financial and technology experts to campus for the benefit of its members through guest speaking, professional mentoring, and networking opportunities.  The most recent speaker was Harry Leventhal, the chapter’s industry professional advisor, who was instrumental in founding the Green Eagles Chapter of HFTP.  Leventhal is currently the Controller of the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas and also serves on the Board of Governors for the University of North Texas Hospitality and Tourism Management program.  The next industry professional slated to speak to the chapter will be Anna McFarland, past global HFTP president.
