UNT Hospitality Students Impress at the 2013 Southwest Foodservice Expo
Sep 9, 2013

The Hospitality and Tourism Management program exhibited at the Southwest Foodservice Expo sponsored by the Texas Restaurant Association in Dallas, Texas in June, 2013.  Over 50 students from UNT attended the show.  Students helped set-up the booth, worked the show by talking to attendees and handing out materials, and networked with industry professionals.  Students also visited with exhibitors to learn about the latest industry trends and see the best products and services on the market.  “The Expo is a wonderful opportunity for students to really connect with the industry in a way they don’t often experience.  They learn about new products, technologies, and food and beverage trends, and they gain insight into the depth and breadth of the foodservice industry,” stated Dr. Lea Dopson, Chair of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program.

The 76th Annual Southwest Foodservice Expo, produced by the Texas Restaurant Association in Dallas Texas, is the largest foodservice tradeshow in the region.  It brings hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of foodservice professionals to the area for two days of networking, education, selling and buying. This year there were more than 700 exhibits and 12,500 attendees.
